As India grapples with the gravity of the attack, tributes have poured in from across the country. Among the deceased was an IAF officer from Arunachal Pradesh, and many of the tourists were on family vacations in what was supposed to be one of the safest, most serene areas of Kashmir.
One particularly heartbreaking account came from the daughter of a victim, who recalled that terrorists cursed the Prime Minister and forced her father to recite an Islamic verse before executing him.
